I Said Goodbye to Everand

Reading is my passion. I typically have three ebooks, an audiobook, and a print book going on at the same time. Don’t worry, I try to mix them up by making sure they are all different genres. That means I use a lot of platforms to fill my reading addiction. Everand happened to be just one of them, and I’m not happy with them anymore.

About six months or so ago, I got a message that the payment for my monthly subscription didn’t go through. Ah, it was a couple of days before payday, so I used a different card. Happened again the next month. I tried a different card, but got the message that it wasn’t valid and to choose a different card. Confusion set in because the card was valid and there was room on it. Finally a card took. Next month, it happened again. I called my bank. Nothing wrong with the card. Why wouldn’t Everand take it. So I reached out to them. Didn’t help one bit.

Initially, I got canned responses like “use a different card”, “call your bank”, or “use Paypal”. My response was something like this, “I have used multiple different cards that work on Amazon on other sites but not this one. I have called my banks, and they say there is nothing wrong with the card. I can’t use Paypal because it is not an option offered to me. Only a new card or Google Pay which I have tried. Google Pay says the card has been verified, but Everand says it doesn’t work. Why don’t I…
