There are some topics that can get very heated when brought up. Believe it or not, Jane Eyre is one of those. This book is considered a classic and is required reading at many schools. Yet it is one that can be both loved and hated.

I read this book back in high school. A few decades later, I realized that I didn’t remember much of it except that I didn’t like it. That wasn’t too surprising. I found that most of the classical works I didn’t like when I was younger. In my older years, I’ve found that I like them much better as I have more life experiences. Maybe that was the case with Charlotte Bronte’s novel. So I gave it a try

If found that I didn’t like still. So I tried an audiobook. At times, books sound better when read to me. Nope. Still didn’t like it. Couldn’t stand it. Then I discovered that many people felt the same way and could get in debates with those who thought it was the best book ever written. I’m still scratching my head over that. What do people see in this book?
