Wisdom and Knowledge Is Not the Same
Wisdom is not the same as knowledge. I can know how to light a match. That’s knowledge. Knowing when not to light it is wisdom. Not wise to light a match when there is a gas leak. Sounds reasonable to have that wisdom, but too many seem to run from it.
Does it seem that we tend to reject wisdom in most areas of our life? That though we know that we should follow it that we go down the wrong path? We need to be constantly reminded to follow the right path.
Proverbs 1:20–21
Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
she raises her voice in the public squares;
at the head of the noisy streets she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech: (NIV)
Everywhere, wisdom is in our ear and in our vision. If we would only listen…. It makes me think of people travelling down a road with beauty all around them. The birds are flying around and singing while a gentle breeze blows. Cutting through this peaceful journey a loud voice. It is warning all the travelers of danger ahead. “There is a man-eating lion hiding in the rocks ahead. It has already taken three men and is on the prowl again. Travelers’ be warned. Turn back. Take a weapon if you need to continue.” The herald is standing beside the road and keeps repeating the warning. Over…
